Stavropol State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve Museum (Ставропольский государственный историко-культурный и природно-ландшафтный музей-заповедник)

Stavropol State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve Museum was founded in 1927 by merging of two museums opened at the beginning of XX century, one of them was the North Caucasus Museum of Local History, the other was the Municipal Educational Museum.

The Museum collection

  • Archeological section – exhibits of the past ages, from the Lower Paleolithic to the late Middle Ages found in the region of the North Caucasus.
  • Ethnographic section – the national clothes, furniture, household items, and jewelry; culture and everyday life of the North Caucasus native people.
  • Nature history section – reconstructed skeletons of the ancient inhabitants of land and sea (elasmotherium, southern mammoth, cetotherium and other), mineral collection, samples of regional flora and fauna.
  • Geographical maps
  • Photographic documents
  • Collection of arts
  • Military historical collection.

The Museum is located in the historical center of Stavropol in the former shopping arcade 1873 year built.

Open hours and price

Wednesday – Sunday – from 10 to 18 (ticket office till 17)

Tuesday – the day only for the guided tours

Day off – Monday

Ticket price 200 rubles
