The Museum of Fine Arts was opened in Saratov in 1885 under the auspices of the marine painter A. Bogolyubov who donated his collection of artworks.

The holdings of the Museum are placed in several buildings. Historical building of the Saratov Museum of Fine Arts was made special for the museum and school of art in 1883-1885, it is an architectural monument.

The second building is the former Saratov Exchange, which is the heritage building. In the third building is old Gymnasium of 1914-1915 years of construction, it is the place for temporary exhibitions.

The Museum collection contains more than 30 thousand items:

  • The old Russian art (icons, books, holy vessels, sculpture);
  • Russian paintings, graphic arts, and sculpture of XVIII-XX centuries;
  • European paintings, sculpture;
  • Applied and decorative arts, furniture.

Open hours and price

Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday – from 10 to 18 (ticket office till 17)

Thursday, Friday – from 12 to 20 (ticket office till 19)

Day off – Monday, and the last working day of each month

Ticket price 150 rubles
