Rostov-na-Donu Zoo (Ростовский-на-Дону зоопарк)

The Rostov-na-Donu Zoo is opened since 1927; it is one of the largest zoos in Russia. The zoo occupies the territory of 56 Ha. The Rostov-na-Donu Zoo is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria.

The multitudinous animals inhabit the zoo, including Asia’s elephants, camels, llamas, kangaroo, crocodiles, and others. The birds are represented by flamingo, cranes, and eagles and others. Several species of animals are included in the Red Book of Russian Federation and the IUCN Red List.

The aquarium contains South American crabs, rare fresh-water skates, local fishes from the Don River. There are the American, African, and Middle-Asian snakes, turtles and other reptiles.

The Rostov-na-Donu zoo is a large green area; the oldest oaks in the city grow here.

From April to September

Daily from 8 to 20 (ticket office till 19)

From October to March

Daily from 8 to 18 (ticket office till 17)

Exotarrium, aquarium, terrarium, elephant house, lemur house – all year around from 9 to 17
