The Aquarelle Train

A routine visit to the Moscow Metro may happen to be a visit to the art gallery at the same time. Since 2007 the Moscow Metro has the unique “Aquarelle” train.

Aquarelle Train2

It is impossible to miss – the decorative design of the train cause a sensation of amazement as soon as the Aquarelle train arrives at the station. Inside all cars are equipped in a particular way: paintings are placed on the one side closed special glass and equipped with a system of lighting; for the opposite side there are the rows of seats for passengers.

The exposition and design of the cars were changed several times. There were paintings from the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum Of Fine Arts, the Andriaka Water Colour School and other Russian art museums.
